YES on Proposition 50: How You Can Help!

California is stepping up to fight for our communities.

California is under attack from the federal government, and the majority in Congress is doing nothing to stop it.

Prices keep rising due to tariffs and inflation is out of control, making food, energy, and housing unaffordable. They’re slashing Medicaid and ACA credits, making everyone’s healthcare costs go way up. ICE has triple the budget to racially profile even citizens during raids, detaining children and tearing families apart. And our military is occupying American cities with an ongoing threat of force against our own citizens.

If Californians don’t act now, families won’t be able to afford essential items and healthcare, ICE will continue to terrorize our communities, and it’s possible voters will never again have their voices heard.

Texas lawmakers are trying to ensure the majority stays in power by stealing five congressional seats and rigging the 2026 election before voting even begins. California’s votes for a new majority won’t matter unless we vote YES on Prop 50. We can’t let Texas decide for California!

California has a duty to fight for a Congress that will stand up for the people. This measure draws fair, temporary maps that conform to our Independent Redistricting Commission's guidelines. They represent California’s diverse communities and ensure our voices aren’t silenced by unfair maps in other states.

Starting October 7, vote YES on Proposition 50.

>> Protects CA communities

Prop 50 gives us a fighting chance to save healthcare, end illegal immigration raids, & reverse the tariffs killing our economy.

>> Commits to fair redistricting

Prop 50 reaffirms California’s commitment to independent redistricting and calls on all states to commit to fair and impartial maps.

>> Gives voters the power

Prop 50 puts the power in the hands of the People of California to approve emergency congressional district maps that conform to our Independent Redistricting Commission's guidelines and are in compliance with the Voting Rights Act.

>> Prop 50 is temporary

These maps only affect congressional districts and expire after the next census, when our Independent Redistricting Commission draws new maps as they do after every census.

Action Steps

  1. Check your voter registration.
  2. Sign up NOW to volunteer with the OC Indivisible Coalition. Our window is tight: ballots will be mailed beginning 10/6, drop boxes open 10/7, advance voter registration ends 10/20, and vote centers are open 10/25-11/4. Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by 11/4 and received by 11/11.
  3. Get a “YES on 50” shirt, hat, and sticker from the OC Indivisible Coalition & 50501 Orange County.
  4. Download our YES on Prop 50 fact sheets:
  5. Tell your friends and neighbors the truth about voting YES on Prop 50:
  • California redistricting is LEGAL. Voters decide on FAIR maps which are in compliance with the Voting Rights Act - unlike in Texas where the legislature decides without constituent input on illegal maps that disenfranchise black and brown voters.
  • This is TEMPORARY until the next census and only applies to Congress, not Sacramento or any other office. The ads and mailers claiming otherwise are FALSE. Our Independent Redistricting Commission continues to do their job as usual following the next census. You can read it for yourself in the text of the bill here.
  • This is NECESSARY to stop the attacks on California. Federal policies are wildly unpopular and this administration knows Americans will vote against them in 2026 — that’s why they’re trying to steal the election and gain support in Congress. For the sake of our democracy and ALL Americans, we cannot let them take voting rights away from us.
