Here are your opportunities this week to get out, make connections, and start taking action! This weekly schedule includes protests, city council/school board meetings, community-oriented activities and mutual aid drives for basics & essentials.

  • Wed 7/1: SouthOC4Democracy hosts the OC Singing Resistance for a guest performance in Mission Viejo, and Food Not Bombs Irvine returns to UCI for their weekly Really Really Free Market summer hours.
  • Sat 7/4: Don't miss this edition of the weekly Aliso Viejo rally for the 4th of July, featuring DJ Shireen. Rally time is also extended until 1pm for this day! Don't forget to bring essentials donations for neighbors in need.
  • Sun 7/5: We're back in action with the Rally for Democracy in Costa Mesa, plus Sana Sana Santa Ana hosts a special community-building Children's March in Santa Ana featuring family-friendly activities.

The @50501oc and @ocindivisible Rally for Democracy takes place at rotating locations every Sunday except the last Sunday of each month, where we hold our food drive at the Really Really Free Market Anaheim.

  • 📢 Focus: Defend democracy & voting rights. Join us this week for a performance by the OC Singing Resistance. The Singing Resistance, which sprang up in Minnesota in December 2025 in response to ICE activity, was inspired by the Singing Revolution of Estonia in the late 1980s. The OC chapter of the Singing Resistance follows their example by singing publicly in the streets for the sake of solace, strength, solidarity, to voice their dissent, and to show their refusal to cooperate with oppressive and autocratic forces.

Volunteer With Us!

50501 Movement Orange County and the OC Indivisible Coalition are all-volunteer, grassroots partners. We are committed to coalition-building and peaceful protest, and are not affiliated with a political party. To carry us forward in the movement, there are many jobs that need active owners.

  • Chat Admins: We do our planning on the Signal app. Help us set up and moderate our weekly planning chats.
  • Location Scouts: Research and propose locations for protest or activity for a given week.
  • Activity Planners: Adopt a favorite non-protest activity (Really Free Market, social picnic, skills workshop, sign-making, etc) and help make it a success.
  • Mutual Aid Coordinators: Manage our food/essentials drive, coordinate drop-off, recruit & schedule volunteers.
  • AND MORE: Many more volunteer roles are available, no matter your skills or availability!
