Orange County CA Protests & Events This Week (Jun 15-Jun 22, 2026)

Dear Greater Orange County:

Here are your opportunities this week to get out, make connections, and start taking action! This weekly schedule includes protests, city council/school board meetings, community-oriented activities and mutual aid drives for basics & essentials.

There is an important standout action TUESDAY, JUNE 16 to stop Flock cameras in Costa Mesa – scroll down for more details!

Please note that the regularly scheduled Sunday Rally for Democracy on June 21st (Father's Day) is canceled this week. Our next action will be supporting the Anaheim Really Really Free Market at Pearson Park on June 28th, then we will be back in action with a rally in Costa Mesa on Sunday, July 5th!

The @50501oc and @ocindivisible Rally for Democracy takes place at rotating locations every Sunday except certain holidays and the last Sunday of each month, where we hold our food drive at the Really Really Free Market Anaheim.

Upcoming! Special Guest Roster at Mission Viejo Wednesdays

SouthOC4Democracy will be hosting 2 special guests at their weekly 11am-1pm Mission Viejo rally at the corner of La Paz and Marguerite in coming weeks:

  • Wednesday June 17: As part of the β€œMeet the Candidates” series, Peter Molinari for Mission Viejo City Council, District 2. Peter currently serves on the Mission Viejo Planning & Transportation Commission, where he previously held roles as Chairman and Vice Chairman. In this capacity he helped guide decisions on land use, infrastructure, mobility and long-term planning. He is a homeowner, father, active volunteer and 18-year resident of Mission Viejo. The β€œMeet the Candidates” series is informational and is not an endorsement of any candidate.
  • Wednesday June 24: Join SOC4D for a conversation with Monica V. Lazo, the California Campaigns Director at Economic Security Project California (ESCA). Her expertise spans tax credits, housing, jail reform, and anti-poverty legislation across local, state, and federal levels. She is a native Angeleno and first-generation American.

Next, we have a creative and poetic contribution from a dear friend of the movement:

A Midnight Ride and a Bronx Cheer
(with apologies to that Longfellow guy)

Listen my children and you shall hear
Of the state of our union in this 250 year.
While Trump puts his name on everything standing,
His speeches are filled with incoherent ranting.
His outrageous lies have increased in their  recklessness,
In each lost election, claims fraud without evidence.
He levies attacks on sovereign nations
While claiming our pets are devoured by Haitians.
As tariffs wreak havoc, our inflation strangles.
Our economy limps like an old man with cankles.
Reimbursing insurgents through IRS swindle,
And threatening journalists, news orgs, and Kimmel.
Blackmailing states by withholding their funding,
While dancing to "Macho Man" with both fists pumping.
At rallies for MAGA, he encourages beatings, and then falls asleep at his cabinet meetings.
Calling for cuts in intelligence gathering,
But insists that his team be sufficiently flattering.
No money to fund scientific research,
While lining his pockets with stocks, graft, and merch.
Families in terror, some dying in camps,
While befuddled gramps hosts a tourney for  champs.
Some want him canned, and we too agree.
So we on that opposite shore shall be,
Ready to ride and spread the alarm
And organize every village and farm.
So we in that spirit of Paul Revere,
A cry of defiance, and not of fear,
A voice in the darkness, a knock at the door,
And a word that shall echo forevermore!

About the Sunday Weekly Rally for Democracy & Community Events

We host weekly actions on Sundays from 2-4pm at varying locations throughout Orange County. The schedule is as follows:

Volunteer With Us!

To carry us forward in the movement using these survey results, there are jobs that need active owners.

  • Chat Admins: We do our planning on the Signal app. Help us set up and moderate our weekly planning chats.
  • Location Scouts: Research and propose locations for protest or activity for a given week.
  • Activity Planners: Adopt a favorite non-protest activity (Really Free Market, social picnic, skills workshop, sign-making, etc) and help make it a success.
  • Mutual Aid Coordinators: Manage our food/essentials drive, coordinate drop-off, recruit & schedule volunteers.
  • AND MORE: Many more volunteer roles are available, no matter your skills or availability!
