Here are your opportunities to get out, make connections, and take action. This weekly schedule includes protests, city council/school board meetings, community-oriented actions and mutual aid drives for basics & essentials.

What to note this week (more details below in the schedule):

  • Wed 9/30: SouthOC4Democracy hosts Cynthia Vasquez (City Council District 3) for their "Meet the Candidates" series at the weekly Wednesday "Defend Democracy" rally in Mission Viejo.
  • Thurs 10/1: Chispa OC and Santa Ana Active Streets lead a "Fuera Flock" (Flock Out) bike ride in Santa Ana. Learn more about ALPRs and join a family-friendly ride through neighborhood streets.
  • Sat 10/3: OC PSL leads a community discussion and organizing session in Fullerton to strategize against Flock and other tools of mass state surveillance.
  • Sun 10/4: Monarch Mercado is back in Santa Ana (just like every 1st Sunday of the month). Meet your neighbors, connect with mutual aid organizations, and support local vendors. Plus, OC Indivisible Coalition and 50501oc are holding the Rally for Democracy in Costa Mesa this week (bring sunscreen and water).

Brea

Support Our Neighbors in Costa Mesa

Every month, our friends at Costa Mesa Mutual Aid (CMMA) deliver essential supplies directly to families affected by immigration raids and in need of support. The most-requested items include:

  • Basic essentials: Toilet paper, paper towels, baby wipes, shampoo, disinfecting wipes, floor cleaner (Pine Sol or Fabuloso), trash bags, dish soap, bleach, lotion, razors
  • Food: Cooking oil (veg/corn/olive), canned tuna & chicken, aluminum foil, instant coffee (regular & decaf), vinegar, kids snacks

These supplies can be dropped off at 3100 Pullman St. in the bin labeled "CMMA Donations" on the side of the building with metal warehouse doors.

Alternatively, make a monetary donation directly at the link below to fund CMMA's special bulk purchases of rice, beans, eggs, produce, and bread.
